Reformer Level 1: Intensive Reformer (IR)

Intensive Reformer (IR) will teach you to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Reformer repertoire in personal or group training settings for a range of clients. You will leave with a solid foundation and required skills to develop effective and motivating Pilates Reformer programs.

You will learn:

The STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles
Essential, Intermediate, Power workouts
Effective use of the Reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
Effective observation and communication skills
Verbal cueing and gestural cuing for client instruction and motivation
Theory and practice of postural analysis
139 exercises—plus modifications—for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises
Exercise layering related to effective program design
Workout composition for personal and group training
Prerequisites:

Working knowledge of functional anatomy
30 hours of prior Pilates private and group sessions
Reformer Level 1 Course Details
Reformer Level 1 is a combination of course hours and independent study for a total of 125 hours. We’re happy to explain more thoroughly when you call.

50 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
Minimum of 10 hours of observation
Minimum of 40 hours of physical review
Minimum of 25 hours of practice teaching

April 9, 2017    STOTT PILATES CORE Instructor Foundation Workshop…   ( Hours 9:00am – 5pm)

The CORE Athletic Conditioning & Performance Training Program is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness with an interest in training their athlete clients more effectively.

Emphasis on cueing, biomechanics, proper form, and modifications are some of major points that separate the CORE program from other training programs

After completing this program students will be prepared to teach two complete workouts; a Muscular Endurance Interval Training Workout and an Interval Training Workout focusing on Strength, Power and Balance.

Students will learn exercises that can be used in a fitness-based workout & understand how the movements can be used for sport-specific training.

Pilates Essentials

Pilates Essentials is a fundamental class on the PILATES EQUIPMENT introducing the essential pilates exercises and principles. The class is 50min held on Tuesdays at 6:30pm or Wednesdays at 7:00pm.   $250 for a package of Ten – expires after ten weeks.  Registration is required. 847.719.1800 or visit the studio.

The class is for the newbie, no experience necessary.

Level 1 & Level 2 Cadillac, Chair and Barrels

The Cadillac, Chair and Barrels are found in fully-equipped Pilates studios and these courses are essential for a Pilates professional working with a full range of equipment.
The Cadillac, Chair, & Barrels course has been structured into three separate modules; Intensive Cadillac (ICAD), Intensive Stability Chair (ICHR) and Intensive Barrels (IBRL), to give you maximum flexibility. Completion of all three modules is required to be eligible for certification.

Intensive Cadillac (ICAD)

Building on your industry knowledge and material learned in IMP or IR you will learn to design and lead Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Cadillac repertoire in personal or group training settings for a range of clients. There are 125 exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table.

You will learn:

Variety of exercises performed on the Cadillac Trapeze Table through the full Essential and Intermediate repertoire
Use the Cadillac as a tool to create complete workouts—or as part of Matwork and other equipment routines
To observe and experience a variety of exercises that use the Cadillac’s features, including the roll-down bar, push-thru Bar, trapeze, leg and arm springs
Cadillac exercise goals, biomechanics and alignment, and how to cue and correct clients for safety and effectiveness
How the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles apply to a variety of exercises, variations and modifications
Familiarity with safety guidelines—and how to use the equipment for a variety of clients
Prequisites: Students registering for this course must have completed Intensive Mat Plus (IMIP) or Intensive Reformer (IR)

Cadillac Level 1 Course Details

Cadillac Level 1 is a combination of course hours and for a total of 60 hours. We’re happy to explain thoroughly when you call.

25 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
Minimum of 10 hours of observation

Total: 60 hours
Intensive Stability Chair™ (ICHR)

Building on your industry knowledge and the material learned in IMP or IR you learn to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Stability Chair repertoire for personal or group training settings for a range of clients.

You will learn:

Functional exercises to develop core strength against spring resistance in a variety of positions, including standing, sitting, prone and side-lying
How to apply the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles to Essential and Intermediate-level Stability Chair exercises
Better understanding of movement essence and exercise goals, proper execution and muscle activation
How to improve core stability, increase peripheral strength and enhance mobility on one piece of equipment
How the split-pedal option transforms exercises by challenging bilateral, unilateral and reciprocal strength and stability
Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness
Intensive Stability Chair Level 1 Course Details

Chair Level 1 is a combination of course hours and independent study for a total of 40 hours. We’re happy to explain thoroughly when you call.

15 hours of instruction and supervised teaching
Minimum of 5 hours of observation
Minimum of 10 hours of physical review
Minimum of 10 hours of practice teaching
Total: 40 hours
Intensive Barrels (IBRL)

Building on your industry knowledge and the material learned in IMP or IR you learn to design and lead the Level 1 Essential and Intermediate STOTT PILATES Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel repertoire in personal or group training settings for a range of clients.

You will learn:

How to apply the STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles to exercises on the Arc Barrel, Spine Corrector and Ladder Barrel
Exercises from the STOTT PILATES Essential and Intermediate Barrel repertoire
To understand movement essence and exercise goals
How to support the spine in flexion, lateral flexion or extension, to target core and peripheral muscle groups, and to adapt exercises to specific body types
How to incorporate the barrels into a full-body workout and program for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
Cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness
Intensive Barrels Level 1 Course Details

Intensive Barrels Level 1 is a combination of course hours and independent study for a total of 30 hours. We’re happy to explain thoroughly when you call.
